My name is Chris Gates (not that that’s important). I am the Worship Pastor for Hill Country Bible Church in Dripping Springs, TX, where I have served since we started in September 2009. I moved here from Shreveport, LA in May of 2009 to help start this new church. At Hill Country Church we desire our corporate worship to be filled with God’s word, connected with the worship of the saints throughout history, and encouraging for the people who show up each Sunday.

Vintage Worship is all about worshipping and serving the real Jesus (as opposed to the many fictitious, man-made Jesus’ of popular culture). As a song writer I seek to write music for the church that is congregational, singable, enjoyable,encouraging, laden with Scriptural truth, and most of all honoring to God. With my music I seek to sing the truth about Jesus in a way that brings glory to him and joy to his people. My desire with every song is to enlighten the affections of people’s hearts, raising them God-ward in Christ. Colossians 3:16 says, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God” (ESV). The music of a church is vitally connected with it’s theology and message, and to the health of its members.
